Mary Louise Sanders Cain, 92, died at Butterfield Trail Village Health Care Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas

She was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Flora Barnes Sanders and C. A. "Tip" Sanders. She grew up in Fayetteville and Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Peabody High School in 1933. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1940. While in college, she was chosen to be a charter member of the Arkansas Mortar Board in which she remained active for many years. She was Homecoming Queen, a Razorback Beauty and graduated with High Honors.

She married James William Cain in 1936, and they made their home in Fayetteville. During her life, she chaired many organizations, and was a loyal 50 year member of P.E.O. Chapter AT. She was active in her church, Central United Methodist, chairing her UMW Circle many times and volunteering with the youth. She was involved with the Fayetteville PTA for well over 25 years. In 1940, she spearheaded the establishment of a school for pre-school children. Although accomplishing much outside of the home, she will be remembered for being the best daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend that anyone could ask for.

Her parents, her husband, her baby sister, Dorris Helen Sanders and her son, James William Cain, Jr., preceded her in death.

She is survived by: Two children: Richard Michael Cain & his wife, Mary of Little Rock Mary Lou Rasco & her husband, Terry of Little Rock Four Grandchildren: Scott Cain & his wife, Sharon of Springdale Mary Ann Pike & her husband Keith of San Antonio, TX Vance Smiley & his wife, Angela of Little Rock Elizabeth Glasbrenner & her husband, Jeff of Little Rock Two step-grandchildren: Hamp Rasco Mary-Margaret Marks & her husband Matthew Nine great-grandchildren: Catherine, Laura & Caroline Cain of Springdale Lauren & Grayson Pike of San Antonio, TX Ben & Walt Smiley of Little Rock Grace & Gavin Glasbrenner of Little Rock
