George "Larry" Clegg, 82, of Thompsontown went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2020 at Lewistown Hospital. He was born on March 5, 1938 in Harrisburg. He was the son of the late John and Mildred (Nissley) Clegg. He was also the brother of Linda Billet of York.
Larry was a Patriot. He retired as a MSGT in the United States Airforce after 22 years of service. He also worked for the Quaker Oats Factory, Carlisle Tire and Rubber, served as a Deputy Sheriff, and in his retirement he hauled amish all over the country.
Larry was a straightforward man. He always got right to the point and didn't mince his words. He was known as a great story-teller, had strong political views, loved working on all kinds of projects, and wanted things done "TODAY!".
Racing was his passion as well as a big part of his life as the owner and supervisor of the Clegg Racing Team. He also enjoyed hunting, traveling, and spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of the Mifflintown American Legion, The Millerstown Moose, The Elks Lodge in NM, and the Curry County Sheriff's Department Posse in NM.
Surviving is his wife Kathryn Clegg. Children are: Dixie Clegg of TX, John W. Clegg and wife Faye of TX, Park Clegg and partner Laurie of Maine, Tammy Clegg and Fiancée Noel of SC, John R. Clegg and wife Michelle of Newport, Teresa Jewell of NM, Michael Jewell and wife Stephanie of MO, Lawrence Jewell and wife Kaila of Thompsontown, Kendra Maddux of Shamokin, and granddaughter Kylie Jewell of Thompsontown. In addition he also has 32 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his son George "Larry" Clegg Jr.

SERVICE DETAILS
A memorial service honoring Larry's life will be held at the Boyer Family Funeral Home at 230 N. High St, Duncannon on Tuesday, October 13 at 11AM. A viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Travis Habbershon will be officiating. The burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in Duncannon.
A memorial contribution can be made to Racing for Kids at 131 Kercheval Ave, Suite 100, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.
