Mary A. Gregory, a lifelong resident of Lake Ariel, passed away Saturday morning in the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center after an illness. She was the widow of David C. Gregory who passed away October 3, 1985.

Born 1927 in Lake Ariel, she was the daughter of the late Morton and Gertrude Conklin Moore and was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School. Mary was a devoted member of the Lake Ariel United Methodist Church and was active in many of the church's groups. Prior to her retirement she had been employed locally in the dress manufacturing industry as well as the former Julia Ribaudo Nursing Home. Mrs. Gregory was very active in the community and served as a judge of elections for Lake Township, Wayne County, the Lake Ariel Senior Citizens Group and the Harriet Greene Chapter 198 Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past worthy matron and served as chaplain for many years.

Surviving are children Daniel R. Gregory and wife Nancy, Debra S. Fetzner, Dawn L. Chamberlain, Dale E. Gregory and wife Joan and Atty David M. Gregory; brother Rev. Clifford Moore; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by sons in law Allen Chamberlain and Fred Fetzner; siblings Pauline, Edward, Charles, John, Morton, Roger and Beverly.

Order of Eastern Star services will be held Wednesday at 2pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with funeral services immediately following by Rev. Matthew Armstrong, pastor of the Lake Ariel United Methodist Church.

Friends may call Wednesday from 12:30pm until time of service.

Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions be made to the Julia Ribaudo Senior Care Center Resident Activity Fund 1404 Golf Park Dr. Lake Ariel, PA 18436 or to the Lake Ariel United Methodist Church 110 Maple Ave. Lake Ariel, PA 18436.
