Betty Neel Cook, age 88, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 at her home.
She was born in Bluefield, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Zell Bowling Neel.
She had made her home in the Richlands, Virginia area most of her life and was retired from First Virginia Bank after 20 years of service. She graduated from Graham High School, attended Clinch Valley College and Southwest Virginia Community College. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Richlands, Virginia where she was a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Richard Neel and her sister in law, Binnie Neel.
Survivors are:
Her Husband of 65 years, Raymond A. Cook, Son: Richard Jessee of Blountville, TN
Granddaughter: Victoria Emma Roach and husband, Tim of Phoenix, AZ, Nephew: Dr. Jeffrey Neel of Waxhaw, NC
Niece: Cynthia Neel Maple of Cornelius, NC, Five Great Nieces and Nephews and Two Great Grandsons also survive.
Three Special Caregivers and Friends: Darlene Bowling, Helen Whited, and Shelley Lallande.
Funeral services for Betty Cook will be conducted Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 2pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Gordon McBride officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
