Jo Ann Beck, 76 of rural Julian passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at UPMC Williamsport. Jo Ann was born on October 28, 1945 in Bellefonte a daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Estright Alexander. On November 2, 1968 she married Thomas A. Beck, who preceded her in death on April 27, 1999. Jo Ann is survived by her children Jacqueline A. (Daniel W.) Auman of Pleasant Gap, Jeffrey E. (Pamela J.) Beck of Bellefonte, April D. (Robert L.) Coble of Harrisburg and Scott T. (Stephanie) Beck of Manheim; also surviving are her eight (8) grandchildren, Jeffrey E. (Cara) Beck, Jr., Matthew J. (Hannah) Beck, Stacey L. Beck, Alexandra K. Johnson, Addison B. Johnson, Mikayla M. Beck, Aiden T. Beck and Devin S. Beck; her two (2) great-grandchildren, Aubrey M. Beck and Callum J. Beck. Jo Ann is also survived by her brother, Donald B. (Barbara "Tick") Alexander of Pleasant Gap and her sister, Judy K. (Gary) Dyke of rural Julian.
Before her retirement she worked for PennDOT as supervisory clerk, while at PennDOT, she received an award for her part in instituting the "Adopt-A-Highway" program. Jo Ann was a member of Bald Eagle Valley Community UMC in Wingate, she loved her church family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping on QVC, playing games, loved art and painting, trips to Florida, family times at Treasure Lake, Grange Fair, and also enjoyed her lottery scratch offs and slot machines. She was a member of Bellefonte Women of the Moose Chapter. Jo Ann also sponsored many children through world charities. Being a breast cancer survivor, she was very active with Centre County Relay for Life.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Martha M. (Custer) Shope and Janet A. Lose, her brother, Richard J. Alexander, and her beloved cousin Sarah (Sally) Hommel.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 11 AM – 12 Noon at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St., Milesburg, with funeral services to follow at 12 Noon, with Rev. Nancy Hale, officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Union Twp., Centre Co
