Before her retirement she worked for PennDOT as supervisory clerk, while at PennDOT, she received an award for her part in instituting the "Adopt-A-Highway" program. Jo Ann was a member of Bald Eagle Valley Community UMC in Wingate, she loved her church family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping on QVC, playing games, loved art and painting, trips to Florida, family times at Treasure Lake, Grange Fair, and also enjoyed her lottery scratch offs and slot machines. She was a member of Bellefonte Women of the Moose Chapter. Jo Ann also sponsored many children through world charities. Being a breast cancer survivor, she was very active with Centre County Relay for Life.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Martha M. (Custer) Shope and Janet A. Lose, her brother, Richard J. Alexander, and her beloved cousin Sarah (Sally) Hommel.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 11 AM – 12 Noon at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St., Milesburg, with funeral services to follow at 12 Noon, with Rev. Nancy Hale, officiating.
