Lila M. Hill, 89, of Meridian, ID, died Monday, January 3, 2022 in a Boise care center.
She was born October 3, 1932 in Haxtun, Colorado, the daughter of Asa Johnson Lyman and Jennie Bell Spelts Lyman. She attended schools in Colorado and Washington, graduating from Lake Stevens High School, Lake Stevens, WA in 1950.
On November 13, 1954 Lila married Charles William Hill in Everett, WA. They had two children, Stephen and Rebecca. Together with her husband Rev. Charles W. Hill they served several churches and missions, including Cambridge Bible Church, Cambridge, ID; and with Village Missions at Mud Lake Community Baptist Church, Mud Lake, ID. While in Mud Lake they ministered at Dubois Community Baptist Church and Roberts Community Church. They later served the Star Community Church in Granada, Colorado before returning to the Roberts Community Church, Roberts, ID for 5 ½ years. Rev. Hill died on March 25, 1986 in Roberts, ID.
Following Charlie's death Lila lived with her daughter Becky in Burley, Idaho and then with her son and his family in Inchelium, WA. She returned to Idaho where she resided in the Eagle and Boise areas for the remainder of her life.
Lila trusted Jesus as personal Lord and Saviour in 1961. She wrote in her notes "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
She is survived by her daughter and her husband Rebecca L. and Steve Conn of Meridian, ID; her daughter-in-law, Candace Hill of Liberty Lake, Washington; one grandchild, Andrew Charles Hill and his wife, Cassandra, and one great-grandson, Edward Charles Hill of Spokane, WA. Lila is also survived by one sister, Martha Jane Braun of Edmonds, WA.
In addition to her parents, husband and son, Rev. Stephen A. Hill, three brothers, Abner Aaron Lyman, Morris Emory Lyman and Felix Asa Lyman and three sisters, Ruth Janette Ward, Cora Louise Macchia and Naomi Mary Taro, preceded her in death.
Her family requests memorials be made to Village Missons or Gideons International.
Because of her husbands service to our country Lila will be buried at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery following a private committal service.
