Barbara Lee Noel, 90, of Arvada, Colorado passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 6th at Sandalwood Manor in Wheat Ridge, Colorado with family near her side. She was born on August 15, 1931 in Moberly to Roselee (Brake) and Claude H. Noel. She was raised in Madison by her Aunt Maude (Noel) Eubank and Uncle Waller Eubank.

She graduated from Madison High School in 1949. She married Wilson Burke, with whom she shared five children; Jody, Jerry, Judy, Jim, and Julie. She married William Short with whom shared a son, Todd. She has lived in Colorado since 1967.

Barbara worked full-time her entire career at various jobs over the years, mostly as a bookkeeper/office manager. She retired in 2008 at the age of 76. With a sharp and active mind until the very end, she most enjoyed spending time with friends and family, lending a listening ear and helping to problem solve any situation. She was a good friend to all and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her 5 children, ; fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-four great grandchildren, her ex-husband, and 3 siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roselee Brake and Claude Noel; Maude and Waller Eubank; ex-husband, William Short, a son, James Burke, a granddaughter, Toby Miller and a grandson, Eugene Bruno.

A celebration of life for the family will be held at her resting place in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Madison, Missouri at a future date.
