Ronald George Hunter (RGH), loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and tremendous friend to dozens of individuals he considered family, went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2022. He was 72 years old. Born on September 25, 1949, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George Hunter and Dolores Hunter Heinemann. He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Hunter, of Florida, daughter Kelly Hill, and her husband Dan, and his loving grandchildren, Timothy, Caden, and Erin Hill. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Hunter, and his grandson, Daniel Patrick Hill.
Ronald dutifully served in the United States Army from 1971-1977 having ultimately achieved the rank of Sergeant, E-5, out of Ft. Dix, NJ. He graduated from Bucks County Community College with a degree in Business and Hotel Management while also studying fine art photography, a passion which he would continue to pursue throughout his lifetime.
He began his career in automotive sales in the early 1970s in entry-level sales and rose throughout the years to successful General Manager. Most recently, in preparation for his retirement, you could find him selling remembrance military apparel and supporting his fellow United States veterans at veteran hospitals throughout the Northeast and local venues, including the Trenton Farmers Market, where he enjoyed time with similar small business owners with whom he became close over the decades.
Ron was born a hardworking businessman but also had a passion for hunting, fishing, antiques, and a lifelong love for collecting memorabilia that warmed his heart. He especially enjoyed watching his hometown Philadelphia Eagles and notably, their Super Bowl Championship victory in 2018. He was most content celebrating the holidays, especially Christmas. It was his favorite pastime, along with music, past, and present. He had an affection for the piano, orchestra, theater, and the arts in general. Ronald will be remembered for his fellowship, American patriotism, pride in family, persistent work ethic, gifted entertaining, and warm and welcoming spirit for eternity. He was a deeply caring, thoughtful, and giving man, happiest when surrounded by close friends and family during the most influential times in his life.
Family and friends are invited to Ronald's Life Celebration on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 9:30-11:30 am at Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 South Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, PA. 19047, followed immediately by his memorial service at 11:30 am. Interment at Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia.
