Karen, the daughter of Harry and Ruth Smith, was born on May 21, 1964 in Joliet, IL. Karen resided in Lemont, IL until she was 9. At age 9, her family moved to Lake Geneva, WI. She loved swimming in the lake. She enjoyed summers at the family resort in northern Wisconsin. Karen and her husband, Terry Harrington, and children, Ashley and Mitchell moved to Fairfax, OK in 2009.
Karen was a stay at home mom. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, playing games, and listening to music. Her favorite song was Amazed, and she loved her husband's homemade pizza. Most of all, she enjoyed being with family and friends. Karen was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Ponca City. She enjoyed going to Sunday services and special programs at the church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley Hammerstad-Smith and her father, Harry O. Smith. Karen is survived by her husband Terry Harrington, son Mitchell Harrington, mother Ruth Smith-Khedroo, and a brother and sister.
Karen will be dearly missed by family and friends.
