Funeral services for Mr. Larry David Dickson of Edwards, formerly of North Carrollton, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, at Oliver Chapel in Winona, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Dr. John G. McCall will officiate. Mr. Dickson died Saturday, July 14, at his residence in Edwards. He was 66.
Mr. Dickson was a retired computer program analyst for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District. He was a member of Edwards Baptist Church in Edwards, where he served as a deacon, chairman of the Brotherhood and numerous other committees. He was also a member of the AQHA.
Mr. Dickson was the son of Opal R. Dickson and the late George David Dickson. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda S. Dickson of Edwards; his daughter, Lisa Dickson Hood and her husband Michael of Winona; his son, Larry D. Dickson, Jr., and his wife Alison of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Sarah D. Godwin of Albertville, Alabama; and Marie D. Caldwell of Winona; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Thomas Caldwell, Keith Caldwell, Nelson Godwin, Daniel Riles, Eddie Templeton, and Matthew Killebrew.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.
A memorial service celebrating Mr. Dickson's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, at Edwards Baptist Church in Edwards.
