Douglas Gregory Robinson born January 10, 1937, age 84, went to be with our Lord on December 31, 2021. He was raised in Florence, Kansas the son of Everett Alvin Robinson and Gladys Louise Riggs.

He was the older brother of Gale Dean Robinson, 3 1/2 years younger and Darryl Everett Robinson, 10 years younger. Both brothers moved to Houston in the early 70's to be near Doug's family. Doug graduated from Florence High School in 1955. He made furniture in shop class all four years, replacing pieces lost when their home flooded in 1951.

Doug graduated from Emporia State University with a BS in Business 1960. In October 1958 he gave Kay Utterback an engagement ring after midnight on Friday so she would have her ring and be crowned Homecoming Queen on the same date! They married during Spring Break in March 1959 their Junior year. Doug worked for a plumber and electrician during high school and almost every weekend during college gaining knowledge he used the rest of his life. His first and only job after college was with Jones & Laughlin Supply. He stayed with the company through three owners and name changes retiring after 34 years from Continental Emsco at age 58.

Doug's pride and joy are three children, daughter Melinda Robinson Sciples and Stace also have three children. Shane Douglas and Meghann have a daughter Addison 1 year old. The Sciples also have twin daughters, Sarah married Jay Cannon and they have two daughters, Rilynn 8 year and Rosalie 1 year old. Samantha married Keith Mueller and they have one daughter, Norah, 2 1/2 years old. Son Randall has a daughter, Taylor, who graduated from SMU. His son Will Robinson and Morgan have a son, Asher Robinson, 3 years old. Daughter, Melanie Robinson Fitzpatrick and Frank have a son, John Douglas, attending Texas Tech.

Doug & Kay had seven RV's over 45 years. The best family memories were going in the RV on family trips together. Doug drove the truck pulling the rig through many states on wonderful vacations. In later years Doug and Kay looked forward to meeting RV friends once a month at CORP Parks and Texas State Parks.

Doug's brothers and their families living near the big house on Jimmy Lane, allowed 50 years of Saturday nights and holiday get togethers to tuck into our memory bank. Doug's family became Lutheran in the early 70's. The kids went to Our Savior Lutheran School and Doug & Kay went to the discovery class. Doug especially liked Lutherans preaching and teaching straight from the Bible. Membership was transferred to Living Word and they have been our loving family for over 40 years.

Doug and Kay's family moved them March 27, 2021 to Lewisville, north of Dallas. God's infinite wisdom gave Doug time to be close to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A private burial service will be at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, Friday January 14, 2022. The Celebration of Life Service and lunch is Saturday January 15, 2022 at 11:00 am at Living Word Lutheran Church, 9500 North Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381.
