Emil Ashbaker Of Murrayville Dies

Emil J. Ashbaker, 71, Rural Route 1, Murrayville, a retired farmer, died Tuesday morning March 4, 1975 at Passavant Hospital, Jacksonville.

Mr. Ashbaker was born April 29, 1903, in Ripley, son of William and Josephine Henrick Ashbaker. He married Mildred L. Colbert Jan. 22, 1927 in Mt. Sterling, and she survives. Also surviving are six sons; Lloyd, Red Bud; Raymond, Murrayville; Cletus, Shreveport, La.; Vernon, San Bernardino, Calif.; Francis, Jacksonville, and Gerald L., Prairie du Rocher. Two daughters, Mrs. DeEtte Peterson, Amarillo, Texas, and Mrs. Rosemary Boyd, Rantoul. Six brothers, Eugene A., Murrayville; Melvin, Versailles; Marcellus, Quincy; Robert, East Alton; Lavern, Clayton; and Lyle, Latham. Two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Cook, Beardstown, and Mrs. Lorene Bedenbender, Rushville; and 21 grandchildren.

He was preceded in Death by a son, Terrance, in 1944, a daughter, Judith in 1970, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Ashbaker was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church at Mt. Sterling where services were conducted Friday, Father John D. Moore officiated. Burial was in Mt. Sterling Catholic Cemetery.
