Lloyd "Jug" Wilson, 77, of Cartersville, GA., departed this life on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at his residence.

He was born on April 12, 1944, in Benton, Tennessee to the late Homer and Virginia Griffin Wilson. In his early years, he earned the nickname "Jug" regarding to the many hours spent working and carrying water to the farm hands as a young boy. Throughout life, he enjoyed being outdoors, playing rook with family and friends till late in the evening hours, and spending time with his family, whom he dearly loved. Jug was a gifted and talented tradesman and was well respected among his colleagues and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Homer and Virginia Wilson, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Wilson, Robert Wilson, and Harold Wilson; sisters, Bea Holman, Lois Gilley, Myrtle "Tootsie" Green.

Left to cherish the many memories include his son, Joey Wilson; brother, Mike (Linda) Wilson; grandchildren, Brandon Wilson and Ashley (Kameron) Kinkade; great-grandson, Arlen Joseph Kinkade; sisters-in-law, Judy Wilson and Carol Wilson. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, January 8, 2022, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Pastor Danny Farmer officiating.

Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Arrangements are entrusted to Higgins Funeral Home of Benton.
