A precious soul has left this earth.

Michael Francis Reid, aged 59 years has gone to heaven to join his parents Carrie and Bill and his beloved Aunt Hazel and sister-in-law Sis.

He had no fear of death and knew only that he would be joining the heavenly card game with those he loved.

While we are deeply saddened for our loss, we are so grateful for Michael's time with us.

He was a gifted athlete in the NL Special Olympics and he loved basketball, bowling and swimming.

His endearing smile and loving glance brightened our days.

He asked very little except to be loved, enjoy his favourite foods and activities and spend time with the family and friends he loved and who loved him in return.

His sisters Donna (Al LeFresne), Trudy (John McCarthy), Pam, Jackie (Eric Ralph), and his brothers Ken (Diane) and Chris (Bonnie), his nephews Scott, Andrew, Mark, Michael, Stephen, Christopher, and nieces Alison, Erin, Mandy and Natasha, his life long friend Jennifer and his many great nephews and nieces were inspired by his kind and gentle spirit and his love of simple pleasures.

A special thanks to his friends and caregivers Lorraine, Wayne, Dana and Matt who saw him through thick and thin and to Ruth Wells who brought peace to all of us during Michael's final weeks.

Our hearts are heavy but we take comfort in knowing that he is safe and in the arms of his loving parents.

"Good night sweet prince….. and flight of angels sing thee to thy rest".
