Born December 17, 1952, he was the son of the late Carl Fusan and Syble Ellen Vernon Savage. David was also predeceased by maternal grandparents, Jesse and Mary Vernon and paternal grandparents, Jesse Cleve (Sr.) and Fannie Savage.
Survivors include his wife, Shelton Williams Savage; brother, Charles Savage and wife Joyce of Rose Hill; sister, Frances S. Phillips and Mike Harrell of Wilmington; brother-in-law, Al Williams and wife Julianne of Beulaville; nieces, Kellen Simpson and husband Caden of Rocky Point and Candace Smith of Beulaville; nephews, Chad Savage and wife Lindsey of Wallace, Ryan Savage of Teachey, and Trey Williams of Beulaville; great nieces, Ellisan Smith, Oaklyn Smith, Lily Simpson, and Cyndil Simpson; great nephews, Connor Savage, Holden Savage, Paxton Savage, Alsea Simpson, and Axel Smith; and special friends, Rickie and Anthony Darden.
After obtaining an associate in science degree, Mr. Savage worked as a farm manager for the majority of his working career. He was a man who loved everyone and especially his family, which was one of the most important things on earth to him.
David was an Eagle Scout. He also loved his church, which he served for many years as a Deacon and Chairman, Building Property & Maintenance.
Funeral services, officiated by the Reverend Steve LeRoux, were held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at Rose Hill Baptist Church, burial followed in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery, Wallace, NC. Visitation was from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the church.
