Lois Jean Miller, 91, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Moorhead Christian Church, Moorhead, Iowa with Pastor Chuck Snow officiating. (Please bring and wear masks to the visitation and funeral service). A luncheon will follow at the Moorhead Community Building, Moorhead, Iowa. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. A visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. The funeral service may be viewed live on the Goslar Funeral Home Facebook Page. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Lois Jean was born November 9, 1930 in Mondamin, Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Irene (Wallis) Rolph. The family moved to Onawa. Lois graduated from Onawa High School in 1949.

Lois and Jack Miller were married June 5, 1949 at the Onawa Christian Church. To this union six children were born, Michael, Ronald, Donald, Gale, Beverly, and Grace. Lois and Jack moved to Collbran, Colorado in 1960. In 1961 they moved to Soldier, Iowa. Lois enjoyed being a farm wife.

Lois worked as a daycare provider at Kangaroo Pouch in Soldier, Iowa. She was a deli manager at Mike's IGA in Onawa, Iowa for several years. She also sorted corn at Ansco Seed Corn in Whiting, Iowa.

She had a huge garden for canning. She enjoyed spending time with family and cooking for a large crowd, and homemade ice cream! She had daily breakfast with the boys. Lois cleaned and sold chickens, sewed (made both daughter's wedding dresses), loved mushroom hunting, crafts, and also finding a good bargain. She also reupholstered furniture, loved making jelly and Christmas candy to give away to friends and family, and loved a glass of wine.

Lois was a member of the Moorhead Christian Church, Moorhead, Iowa.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Susan) Miller of Moorhead, Iowa, Ronald (Cindy) Miller of Moorhead, Iowa, Gale (Rhonda) Miller of Soldier, Iowa, Beverly (Alan) Hadden of Soldier, Iowa, and Grace (Ron) Lenz of Blair, Nebraska; eighteen grandchildren; thirty- five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and one on the way; siblings, Kathryn Oaks, Lorna McNeil, Colleen (Mike) Vaughn, and Wally Rolph; sister-in-law, Bonnie Rolph; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Beth) Miller, and Norman (Bobbie) Miller; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Miller; infant son, Donald Miller; parents, Earl and Irene (Wallis) Rolph; parents-in-law, Edward and Ruth (Hittle) Miller; siblings, Alvena (Paul) Phillips, Norman (Marsha) Rolph, and Gordon (Charlotte) Rolph; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (Don) Carritt and Lorna Rolph; and two brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Sylvia) Miller, and Mel Oaks.

Memorials may be directed in Lois' memory to the Moorhead Fire and Rescue and the Soldier Fire and Rescue.
