Mary Ann Johnson, age 91, of Denmark, passed away peacefully at Scandinavian of Denmark on November 15, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born November 14, 1930 to the late Christian and Olive (Bay) Zuidmulder. On January 6, 1951, she married Warren Johnson, together they enjoyed 68 years of marriage before he passed in 2019. Mary Ann enjoyed embroidery, sewing, traveling, flower gardening, cooking and baking. She always enjoyed time with family during family gatherings. Mary Ann had several pen pals she frequently corresponded with, including one in Norway.
She is survived by her children; Marilyn (Charles) Winnekens and Ross (Kathy) Johnson, grandchildren; Hollie and Angela Johnson, Rebecca Willems-Solc, Heidi (Leon) Que, Chad (Kristin) Winnekens, Tina (Jason) Bertrand, Tamera Winnekens, Leila (Chris) Marcy and Matthew (Jill) Johnson as well as 18 great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Irene and Christine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband Warren; her parents; sons: Douglas and Bruce; grandsons; John and Casey; her brothers and sisters.
Family and friends may gather at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 435 Wisconsin Avenue, Denmark, on Saturday, November 20, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Andrew Zoerb officiating. Burial will be in East Danish Cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
