Patricia (Patty) Lynn Kennedy, 72, passed away peacefully January 10, 2022 after a short battle with cancer.

Patty was born January 6, 1950, in Mansfield, Ohio to Jack and Helen (Murphy) Kennedy. She was a 1968 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. She graduated from Mansfield Beauty Academy in 1973 and became a talented hair stylist who would spend a career of nearly 50 years making people beautiful. She was also a successful business owner. She co-owned and operated a salon, Creative Concepts, for nearly 30 years before selling the business.

Patty was a true creative talent and could craft just about anything. She would pick up new hobbies and skills every couple of years. She spent time painting, sewing, stamping and making cards, refurbishing and reupholstering furniture, sewing, making jewelry, even woodworking for a while. Many people are lucky to have some of her art.

Perhaps as a result of her career, more likely as a result of just who she was, she knew everyone in town. Her family joked they couldn't go anywhere with her without someone stopping her to talk at least once. She loved her family and friends fiercely. She was a devoted mother and the best grandmother that ever lived. Her granddaughters were the light of her life. She loved being there for dance recitals, cheer competitions, choir concerts, performances, school events, and all the little every day moments in their lives. Patty was also a loyal friend with a very busy social calendar. She loved hanging out with her friends, vacationing at the beach, or taking day trips, driving around with the top down in her yellow Beetle, going to the lake, wineries, the theater, concerts, shopping, or checking out a new restaurant.

Patty is survived by her daughter, Ashley (Jeremiah) Brudno; granddaughters Addilyn and Eyla Brudno all of Chagrin Falls; brother Michael (Marsha) Kennedy of Mansfield; sister Paula (Don) Skaggs of Morehead, Kentucky; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were very special to her, and many dear friends who are more like family.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00pm at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West. The family does request face coverings to be worn. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00am Saturday, January 22, 2022 at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
