In her early 40's she met the love of her life, Maurice Mitchell, whom survives. Their babies are their Yorkshire terriers; she loved them all so very much. Her baby girl, Penelope (aka Penni) was her faithful companion and service dog, and was always by her side. She meant everything to Bonnie, and Bonnie to her.
Bonnie considered life a journey, and on that journey, she met many beloved friends. Some she met early in adulthood, who would become lifelong friends, and others, she met in just the last year, as she fought her way through cancer. She considered them her angels, and every one of them were beyond special to her.
Bonnie lived on the Eastern Slope of Colorado when she was young, and later, the Western Slope, where she would live her entire adult life. However, she had a passion for traveling, and did so every chance she could. She loved to see the world.
Bonnie had a love for learning. She graduated high school as valedictorian, and would go on to graduate Colorado Mesa University, not once, but twice. She held three degrees; computer science, mathematics, and later, culinary arts in order to pursue her passion for event planning. She loved planning events and taking care of details to make gatherings special. She had an eye for beauty and details and would ensure everything was always taken care of.
Bonnie loved the arts and was particularly fond of drawing and dance.
Cancer came upon Bonnie over the last year, but she refused to accept it as hers. She fought hard with everything in her to beat it until her last breath. She did not waver in her faith, and she maintained hope. The cancer would eventually ravage her body, and she could take no more. In the end her spirit was stronger than ever. Bonnie knew Jesus, and she knew that because she had accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, she was bound for Heaven, and her family and friends rejoice that she is now at peace, in the arms of her Savior.
