Lorna Gayle Dickens Johnson passed from this world into eternal life at the age of 70 on Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Baytown, Texas.

Lorna was born August 4, 1951 in Baytown. She grew up in Baytown. While Lorna had the opportunity to travel and live in many different places, she always called Baytown home. Lorna was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School's class of 1969. She attended Abilene Christian University, was a member of Missouri Street Church of Christ and an active volunteer for the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America.

In her professional life, Lorna worked in the chemical engineering industry and later in the financial services industry. Lorna had a creative and artistic flare. She loved music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She sang in many different venues including with a band while living in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia. Lorna was never more at home than when hostessing a party or decorating. She never met a flower she didn't like, or couldn't use in a floral arrangement. Lorna had a passion for making things beautiful and people happy and comfortable. She made everyone in her world feel special and valued - because to her, they were.

Lorna believed that her family was her greatest masterpiece. She adored her grandchildren, children, nieces, nephews and her husband, Reggie. They were her life's work.

Lorna is preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Neal Dickens.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Reggie Johnson, her brother, Kelly Dickens and his wife Karen, her daughter, Gina Hicks and husband Randy, her son Jared Johnson and his wife Emily, grandchildren; Jackson, Ryan and Katherine Hicks, Christian, Isabella, and William Barrett Johnson and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 14th, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15 , 2022, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel in Baytown, with interment following at Sterling-White cemetery in Highlands.
