Melissa Diane Lewis, 52, of Gautier, MS, passed away peacefully at her home after a short illness Saturday, January 8, 2022. Melissa was born May 19, 1969 in Pascagoula, MS. She will be remembered as being a strong woman, who was your friend and you always knew where you stood with her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, George "Tommy" Lewis of Gautier; sons, Garret (Rachel) Shouse of Colorado Springs, CO, Slay Shouse of Colorado Springs, CO, and Eli Bishop of Gautier; granddaughter, Louisa Rose Shouse; parents, Mary and Larry Murphy of Three Rivers, MS and Karl and Carol Ratliff of Savannah, GA; brother, Jeff (Cynthia) Ratliff of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and sisters, Jenny Savell of Moss Point and Cathy Hinton of Lucedale, MS; along with other family members and friends.
The funeral service for Melissa will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS with Rev. James V. Miller officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS.
