Margaret "Peggy" Edwards Mills, 96, of Hendersonville, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the Elizabeth House. She was born in Hendersonville on September 26, 1925, to the late A.V. Edwards and Linda Bly Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ernest L. Mills Sr., her daughter Helen Victoria, and her son David Paul.

Peggy was a registered nurse her entire career. She was employed at Pardee Hospital for many years and was the office nurse for Dr. Joseph Bailey for many years. Nursing was her passion and she worked well into her seventies. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she also taught Sunday School. Peggy was an avid hiker and loved reading and gardening. She loved all nature and was outdoors whenever possible.

She is survived by her children, Linda M. Mills, Marcia Mills Kelso, Ernest L. Mills Jr., Judith Mills Vines, and Thomas A. Mills; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Marcia Orr of Ligonier, PA.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
