With a love for education, Dorothy received her degree from Northern Illinois University and later earned her master's at Rutgers University.
As a young woman, she began teaching math at East Peoria High School. She remained there throughout her entire career, educating decades of students, up until her retirement.
Preceding her in death are her brothers, Richard and Paul; special sister-in-law, Ellie Chadwick; and nephew, Joseph Keller.
Surviving are nephews, Robert (Bettye) Chadwick and Paul (Ruth) Chadwick; niece, Elaine Chadwick Keller; nine great-nieces and nephews; six great-great-nieces and -nephews; along with many friends.
