Joe Bill Dempsey, 70, of Happy, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Happy Cemetery with Rick Bloodworth, minister of the Happy Church of Christ, officiating.

Joe Bill Dempsey was born February 10, 1951 in Perryton, Texas to Jack and Bobbie Renner Dempsey. He graduated from Happy High School and then went to the Amarillo Police Academy. On September 24, 1971, he married Glinda Mayes in Happy.

Joe Bill was a dedicated police officer, always willing and honored to serve and help others.

He loved his family deeply.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Dempsey.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Glinda Dempsey; three sons, Yancey Dempsey and wife Buffy, Justin Dempsey and wife Julie, and Clint Dempsey, all of Happy; six grandchildren, Kami, Hunter, Maci, Breelee, Luke, and Brynlyn; three sisters; two brothers; and many other extended family members.
