Jack Lonas Johnson, age 84, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 15, 1937, son of the late William Lonas Johnson and the late Gladys Anita Sowers. Mr. Johnson worked as a type-set printer and proof-reader with the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He was a member of the Arbor Heights Baptist Church.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years; Barbara Jean Johnson, sons: Danny Johnson (Tara) of Douglasville, GA and David Johnson (Deana) Powder Springs GA; grandchildren: Chris Johnson (Jessica), Darrell Johnson, Olivia Layhue (Austin), Emily Brannon (Zach), Natalie Pisano (Anthony), Cameron Johnson, Carly Johnson, Miranda Johnson; and 11 great-grandchildren; brother: William Larry Johnson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Roy Lee Johnson.
The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
A graveside service will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 10:30 AM with Brother Bill Smith officiating.
Hightower's Memorial Chapel of Douglasville has charge of the arrangements.
