Ethel Claire Stewart, 91, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at John Knox Village Health Center, Weslaco, Texas. She was born in Plymouth, New Hampshire on December 6, 1930. Her parents were the Reverend William Ward Stewart and Ethel Claire Shields Stewart. Ethel and her parents, brother and sister moved to Pharr, Texas in 1933. Her father was a much beloved Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pharr for many years. Upon his retirement in 1968 he moved with his wife and Ethel to Weslaco. After her parents death she continued to live in their home, and enjoyed the company of her next-door neighbor, Mrs. Pearl Brixey.

Ethel worked at several banks in Weslaco where she loved bank clients and employees. In 2006 she sold her home and moved to John Knox Village where she enjoyed the company and friendship of all who lived there. She was especially grateful for the friendship and assistance given her by Andrea Trevifio and her staff of caregivers.

Ethel is survived by a nephew living in Zaragoza Spain, Andres William Stewart, and two grand-nieces and a grand-nephew, and a nephew, Alejandro Stewart lives in Tarragona, Spain. Her sister, Mary Claire and William, her brother, predeceased her.
