William Alton "Bill" Dixon, age 82, of Ash, NC passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Bill was born in Southport, NC on September 6, 1939, to the late Alton Dixon and Minnie Spencer Dixon Long. He was a retired Dredge Boat Captain who operated "The Pullen" for Norfolk Dredging Company. Bill was a proud US Army veteran, a dedicated member of Old Shallotte Baptist Church, an avid farmer and was a former Calabash Commissioner. He was a true outdoorsman who loved being outdoors, hunting, especially deer hunting.

Surviving are his loving wife of 28 years, Brenda H. Dixon; children, Sharon Fox, (Ray), Greg Dixon, Mateus Buchanan, (Matt), Nickolus Shannon, (Kristina), Travis Dixon, (Summer), Shawnesey Dixon, (Dylon); grandchildren, Carla White, Kellie Wilson, (Sam), Mackenzie Buchanan, Ethan Shannon, Jordyn Quent, Mattelin Buchanan, Carter Dixon, Caden Dixon; great grandchildren, Kayla Milliken, Madison Milliken, Ellen Martin, Mason Riviecco and Chase Wilson.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside with military honors, on Friday, January 14, 2022, in the Manley Bennett Cemetery, Calabash with The Reverend Rory Thigpen officiating. Since Bill's signature color is red, the family asks for everyone attending to wear something red in his memory.
