Obituary from Vernal Express (Vernal, UT) - Thursday, August 13, 1936:
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) in the First ward chapel for Hiram Sylvester Richardson, 59, deputy sheriff of Uintah county, who died at the family home early Tuesday morning, of a paralytic stroke after an illness of five weeks. Mr. Richardson was brought home last week from a Salt Lake hospital where he had been for treatment.
Mr. Richardson was born October 12, 1876 at Plain City, Utah, the son of Hiram Sylvester and Sarah Singleton Richardson. He came to the Ashley Valley in 1893 where he engaged in farming and stock raising. In 1900 he married Miss Carrie Nielson at Vernal and both have been active in church and civic duties.
Besides the widow, the following children survives: Hiram A. Richardson, Mrs. Estella Eames, Warren D., Don E., Carl R., and Carma Rae Richardson, all of Vernal, Mrs. Mable Merrell of Ogden. Also the following brothers and sisters, Lafe Richardson, marshal of Vernal City; Lawrence Richardson, Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Pearl Brown, Klamath Falls, Oregon; Howard Richardson, address unknown; one half brother, Barney Sims, Seattle, Washington. Also four grandchildren. His son, Warren D. Richard is second counselor in the Vernal First ward bishopric.
