The name of Robberts may have been Roberts, but it is spelled with two "B"s on his headstone. "Jack" was the son of John & Elizabeth (Blackwell) Robberts. some of his siblings were Hugh, Amanda Tallent, Byrd, and Bazzel.
Jack was married to Margaret (Lyle) Robberts. They had five children; Wm. Lyle, John Francis, Samuel Henry, Alfred Marion, and Elizabeth Jane.
Jack and T.D. Via were bushwhacked on the old Licking Road returning home with supplies from Meramec Iron Works by either pro-Union Mo. militia or pro-secession bushwhackers. Jack was said to be a Civil War soldier, and records appear to indicate he served in the Confederacy.
