Nita was a native of Laurel, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Gene Carter and her cherished daughter Leigh Anne Carter. She is survived by her son, David Carter and her brother, John Kent Owens. She was a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi . She retired from the Veterans Administration hospital in Tampa, Florida after 20 years of service. Nita was a wonderful wife and mother and will be missed by all who knew her.
