Jose Maria Cantu, born on April 20th, 1936 in Mexico, to Epigemenio Cantu and Rosa Maria Cantu, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 10th, 2022 in McAllen Texas at the age of 85. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife: Elia Cantu, his daughter: Dora E. Barrera, his son in law Inocencio Romo, and one precious granddaughter: Diana Romo. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife: Socorro Martinez, his children: Jose M. Cantu (Rebeca), Juan Manuel Cantu (Hilda), Xavier Cantu (Aracely), Jesus Cantu, (Isela), Ruben Cantu (Rosario), Diana Romero, and Rossy Barrera (Laurencio). His memory is also to be carried on by his beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation at The Lord and I Funeral Home in Peñitas, Texas on Friday, January 14th, 2022, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm with a 7:00pm Rosary. Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at 8:30AM to 9:30AM at the Lord and I Funeral Home in Penitas, Texas. Interment is to follow at the Sullivan City Cemetery.
