Engineer James Manion, 63;
Heart Attack While Driving
James G. Manion, 63, of 213 Burlington Drive, Manlius, was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on Route 173 Friday by the county medical examiner.

Manion was stricken by a heart attack while driving to work. His car veered to the side of the road and rolled onto an embankment. There were no other injuries reported, according to the county medical examiner officials.

Manion was born in Rochester and lived in Manlius and Cazenovia for 24 years. He was an engineer for Syracuse University and a communicant of St. Ann's Church. Manion was an Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the Manlius Road and Gun Club.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred; four daughters, the misses Judy and Sharon, both of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Cynthia Driscoll of Lebanon, N.H., and Miss Mariella of Manlius; a grandson; three sisters, the misses Anne, Theresa and Mary, all of Rochester; and three brothers, William of Lockport, George of Roswell, N.M., and Thomas of Arlington, Texas.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Newell-Fay Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, Manlius. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt.

Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 403 Pleasant St., Manlius.
