John was the son of Martin and Lena Scheer Drenkhahn. He did not marry. He was born and died in Danbury, Woodbury County, Iowa.

THE MAPLETON PRESS - Thursday, March 17th, 1966 - John E. Drenhahn of Danbury died Tuesday, March 8, 1966, at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness, at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 1 day.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 1966, at the Methodist church at Danbury. Rev. Earl Kurtz officiated.

Burial was on the Danbury cemetery under direction of the Walters Funeral Service. Pall bearers were Clem Schirroner, Glen Patterson, Frank E. Wanger, Charles Jensen, Edwin Scott and Carl Schable.

Mr. Drenkhahn, son of Martin and Magelena Scheer Drenkhahn, was born April 7, 1899, at Danbury. He was lifetime resident and farmer of the Danbury area and in later years lived with a sister and brother.

Survivors include a brother, Fred, and a sister, Miss Elizabeth Drenkhahn, both of Danbury, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
