JEANNE'S OBITUARY
Memorial services for Jeanne M. Celander, 92, of Belle Plaine, MN, formerly of Fairmont, MN, will be 1:00 p.m. March 25, 2022, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial will be following the service in Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. March 25, 2022, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Jeanne passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the Kingsway Retirement Living Home in Belle Plaine, MN. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jeanne Celander was born July 29, 1929, in Ceylon, MN, the daughter of Elsie (Palmer) and Carl Sundberg. Jeanne attended country school #114 grades through 8th grade and graduated from Fairmont High School class of 1947. She married Vincent Celander September 4, 1949, in the Fairmont Methodist Church. They farmed in East Chain and Silver Lake townships. Jeanne enjoyed working in the fields along side her husband. They retired farming in 1995, and moved to Belle Plaine, MN, in 2009. She was past president of Martin County Historical Society, Co-Chaired the publication of the Martin County History Book, helped establish the Martin County Preservation Association while helping to save the Chubb House. Jeanne enjoyed many hobbies doing puzzles, word games, collecting dress buttons. She enjoyed doing genealogy and made several books of her family histories. She especially loved entertaining at their home on the farm whether it was friends, relative or family when they could spend a weekend. After they moved to Belle Plaine, they added great-grandchildren and until the pandemic they looked forward to get-togethers. Jeanne enjoyed attending as well as setting up flea markets, swap meets, rummage sales, and auctions with her husband, Vincent.

She is survived by her children, Marcia (Jeff) Hiltz, Larry Celander, former spouse, Vicki Celander; grandchildren, Kristi, Brian, Laura, Ricardo, and Leah; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Caden, Stevie, Eric, Mariana, and Benjamin; sister, Janice Walker and Ron Bianchetto of Cambria, CA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jeanne is preced in death by her husband, Vincent; parents, Carl and Elsie Sundberg; father-in-law and mother-in-law; sister, Margret Sagissor; brother, Richard Sundberg; and a grandson, Eric Celander.
