Irene Denise Brown,65, of Pleasant Grove, AL., left this earth for the portals of glory to join her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 8, 2022. She was Pentecostal in faith and a media member of Family Worship Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Denise was a 1975 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. She worked diligently as a hospital switchboard operator before becoming an insurance billing clerk. She traveled the country with various family members especially her aunt and uncle, Martha and Don Ferrell and their grandkids, the sons that she never had Andrew and Eric Ferrell. She was an avid supporter of the University of Alabama athletic program and especially of the Crimson Tide Football. She loved her Boston Terriers too!
Denise was preceded in death by her father Troy Brown, her mother Bertie Lou Barnes, stepfather James Barnes, Sr., grandmother Irene Stracner, aunt Margaret Lynette Fuller Keel, and Martha Ferrell, and uncles Frank Stracner and Donald Ferrell.
She is survived by her brother James Barnes, Jr.; aunt Violet Stracner; cousins Donnie Ferrell, Tommy Stracner and Lynn Stracner; and other family and friends. Her last wish is that you know and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and believe in what he did for you at Calvary and let him bless you.
The visitation will be Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral will be in chapel at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
