She held onto hope and strong will through the end until it was time to return home and receive God's healing powers of restoration for her body and mind. Also, on the same day as her deceased husband's birthday, to join him in celebration.
Cynthia was the epitome of a gentle soul that loved compassionately and was adored by her family and grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as Nana. She was truly one of a kind and left an imprint on everyone in her life. To know her, was to love her unconditionally.
Her passions in life included: spoiling her grandchildren, music and playing the drums, doing arts and crafts, warm weather, crocheting blankets, buying gifts, going to the flea market, and collecting angels among many other things.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her father, James Rigney, Sr.; brother, James "Jim Jim" Rigney, Jr.; brother-in-law, Bobby Dean Hill; stepfather, George Francis Gilbert; and her husband, Mario Reyes.
Left to honor her in loving memory are her daughters: Amalia and Brian Juchnik, and grandchildren Cayden and Micah; Felice and Eric King, and grandchildren Shane, Sofia and Sila; and third youngest daughter, Angelina Rigney, and grandson Gianni. Her loving mother, Yvonne Johnson Gilbert. Her siblings: brother, Eddie Rigney; sister Kelly Hill Sudano, and her children Logan and Tehya Hill; sister, Donna Dill and her four children.
When she could, Cynthia loved going to church and being able to donate - even if it was her last $5 dollars. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated and can be made to Fairview Baptist Church, c/o Pastor Todd Royal, PO Box 1339, Fairview, NC 28730.
