She was born on May 11, 1928, in Metamora, to Otto and Rose Catherine (Meismer) Giehl. On June 26, 1952 in Port Hueneme, California she married Marvin "Bud" Huber who preceded her in death in 2017.
Rose is survived by 6 children; 9 grandchildren; her sister and a brother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and siblings, Francis Giehl, Eugene Giehl, Paul Giehl.
Rose graduated from Illinois State Normal University and taught Math until deciding to stay home to raise her children. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln. Rose was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society at St. Columba's Church and volunteered at the Food Pantry and the kitchen at the Easton schools. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and loved her specialty of baking bread, cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls.
A private family service will be held with burial at Easton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mason City Area Nursing Home or Holy Family Catholic Church.
