Mildred Vera Wilson, 93, of Grawn, Michigan, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Morehead, Kentucky, the daughter of J.D. Caudill and Rosie Mae (Armstrong) Caudill.

Mildred was known by her family and friends as "Nana." She was always the center of attention wherever she would go, whether it be sitting on the deck in the summer waving at the neighbors that passed by, who would usually stop for a minute to chat, or just going to the grocery store. She was always smiling and talking to someone. She greeted everyone with a compliment and a funny story from her past. She was truly one of God's gifts that will live on forever in the hearts and memories of those whose were fortunate enough to cross her path.

Mildred lived her life for her family whom she cherished more than anything. She loved to sing and dance and play the organ. Occasionally she might have offered a Charleston dance lesson or two. She loved spending time outdoors taking walks, birdwatching, floating on the pontoon, and staying busy. She had a hard time sitting still for too long. She enjoyed going out to eat, especially if it was to a restaurant that served up her favorite dish of ham, beans, and cornbread. She just enjoyed everything and every day.

Mildred and her husband owned T&T Sales and Service, where she was the office secretary until she retired.

On September 6, 1947, Mildred married the love of her life, Kenneth Wilson, who preceded her in death on December 7, 2010.

She is survived by: her daughter, Susan (Scott) Van Horn of Ocean Shores, Washington; three granddaughters, Tonya (Danny Brewer) Gentz of Grawn, Tosha (Carl) Gajeski of Manistee, and Monique (James) Ball of Wellston; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew (Milissa) Gentz, Allison (Matthew) Krause, Matthew (Beth) Sutherland, Nicholas Loney, Jeremy Gajeski, Justin (Jenna) Meyer, Warner, and Claire Ball; eight great-great grandchildren, Austen, Ellie, Chloe, Carter, Alyvia, Kylie, Arrayla, and Keaton; and two nieces, Victoria Wilson and Debbie Creekmore.

In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by: her daughter, Linda Colleen Wilson; her parents; two brothers, Audrey and Bill Caudill; and sister, Katie Wilson McKean.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday July 16, 2022, 2 PM-6 PM at her home in Grawn. Private graveside services took place at the Brethren Cemetery.

The Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, is in charge of arrangements.
