David Franklin Booth, age 80, of Athens, cashed out his "HSA" Heavenly Savings Account and was met with Jesus and "Momma" on Friday evening, January 7, 2022. David was currently residing at Athens Place and was a longtime resident of McMinn County. He was born in Birmingham, Al to the late William Henry Booth and Rosa Mae Bearden Booth Montgolf. On November, 28, 2015, he was preceded by his loving wife, Sylvia Patricia "Pat" Casteel Booth. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Vickie Lynn Friedman.
David proudly served in the U.S. Army and retired as a Boilermaker. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was not ashamed to tell others about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved his family and was very proud of all his grandchildren.
David is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law:

Tonya and Billy Moore of Niota

Tiffany and Richard Cardin of Athens

Grandchildren

Clay Moore and wife Amber of Niota

Josh Moore and wife Whitney currently stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY

Skylar Moore of Athens

Five great grandchildren, Kyla, Kati, John, Nick and Aurora

Goddaughter, Nicole Andrino

Sister, Sandra Strickland of Birmingham, Al

Brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Wanda Booth of Chelsea, AL

Also surviving are the children and great grandchildren of his late daughter Vickie, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 12, at Antioch Baptist Church, (located at 218 Canal Street Athens, TN.) with Rev. Larry Arwood officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be on Thursday, Jan 13, at 11:00 at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Calvin Armstrong officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Clay Moore, Josh Moore, Skylar Moore, John Moore, Nicholas Moore, Richard Cardin and Billy Moore.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm prior to the funeral service at Antioch Baptist Church.
