James "Jim" E. Henry, 84, formerly of New Albany, Indiana, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his home in Perrysburg surrounded by his loving family. James was born May 1, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Floyd and Dorothea (Harker) Henry. He was an all-star athlete in his earlier years, earning the Arthur L. Trester Award for his athletic and academic ability. Jim then went on to earn his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Vanderbilt University where he played basketball and became a Legend. He then proudly served our country in the United States Navy for three years. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, James went on to earn is Master's degree from Steven's Institute. He married Sue Lefler on June 6, 1959 and they shared 62 years together.

Jim was a Vice President at Owen's Illinois. In 2005, Jim was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. He was an avid golfer and a well-rounded gentleman.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; children, Deborah (Karl) Rohen, Lori (Jeff) Brintnall, Wendy (John) Ward and David (Jennifer) Henry; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and brother, David (Lesha) Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lee Henry and William Henry and grandson, Michael Britnall.

Friends and family will be received Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11-1 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, 47150. Burial will follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in James's name to The Parkinson's Foundation of Northwest, Ohio, 150 W. South Boundary Street, PMB #202, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
