Thomas Junious Harris, age 98, passed away on January 9, 2022. Thomas was born to the late Robert Clarence and Gertrude Dement Harris on April 20, 1923. In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by a son, Robert Arthur Harris; a daughter, Teresa Gail Harris; a grandson, Matthew Thomas Harris; and brothers, H.D. Harris and Ezra "Ray" Harris.

Thomas is survived by his wife Dorothy Evans Harris; his son, Wayne Harris; two grandchildren, Teresa Ayscue and David Harris (Brandi); and four great-grandchildren, Kevin James Strickland, Thomas Cole Strickland, Tanner Reece Ayscue, and Anabelle Grace Harris.

Thomas served his country in the U.S. Navy and was active in the American Legion. He was a member and a big supporter of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Thomas was a family man and strong in his faith, he was a constant for his family. He enjoyed riding horses or his Harley Davidson.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 1626 Gordon Moore Road, Franklinton, NC at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. The family will receive friends following the service in the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Wesley Chapel UMC, c/o Treasurer, 1666 Suitts Store Rd., Franklinton, NC 27525, would be appreciated.
