Sergeant 1st Class U.S. Army, Michael Eugene Couch I, age 53 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022 after a courageous battle with an illness.

He was saved and a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and currently employed as Sergeant 1st class with the U.S. Army Reserve 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment on Sutherland Avenue. He loved the outdoors and his weekend drills with the military and his country. He was proud to serve his military family.

He was preceded in death by parents; Billie and Doris Couch, sister; Claudia Couch.

He is survived by loving children; Michael (Danielle) Andrew Caylor, Michael (Cherie) Eugene Couch II, Matthew (Amanda) Couch, Lacy (Erick) Salas, Grandchild; Corbin Caylor, sister; Mary Ellen (Mark) Bach, beloved nephew; Garth Scarbrough, mother to his children of 28 years, Debra Catheryn Couch, lifelong friend and companion; Joann Sifford, many friends, and army family.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at funeral home, followed by a 7:00pm Celebration of Life. Family and friends will meet 9:00am Thursday, January 20, 2022, at funeral home to leave in procession for a 10:00am committal service at East TN Veteran Cemetery.
