Mr. James Herman Woods, better known as Jimmy to his family and friends, 88, passed away on January 9, 2022 at Lafayette Health Care in Mayo, FL. Jimmy was born October 17, 1933 in Perry, Florida to Robert Herman Woods and Lessie King Woods. He attended and was a graduate of Taylor County High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. Jimmy was of the Christian faith and attended the Perry Church of Christ. He was the owner and operator of two businesses which operated for many years, Woods Filling Station, and Woods Scrap Metal. In his spare time he enjoyed playing and listening to Bluegrass music. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by 4 generations of cousins, as well as numerous other family and friends,
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:30AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Carlton Cemetery with Bro. Eric Russell officiating. All arrangements are under the care of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
