Mrs. Peggy McCollum Brown, 87, of Royston, GA passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at her home.
Mrs. Brown was born in Hart County, GA on January 8, 1935, daughter of the late Paul B. McCollum and the late Myrtie Mae Johnson McCollum. She was an active member of the Royston First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School class, the choir and recently retired as pianist after more than 40 years of dedicated service. Peggy loved to cook and was well known in the community for her baked goods. She was also a former member of the Royston-Franklin Springs Pilot Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Edwin "Ed" Brown.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam Brown of Hull, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Melinda Brown of St. Mary's, GA; grandchildren, Justin Wilson of Athens, GA, Tara and Brian Ealy of St. Mary's, GA and Christopher and Heather Brown of Brunswick, GA; great-grandchildren, Katie, Hannah, Jacob and Addison Ealy and Kai and Isla Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bettye and Wayne Leard of Royston, GA and Paula and Warren Ginn of Greensboro, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mrs. Brown will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, in the Royston First United Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Parker officiating.
The family will receive friends in the church gathering area immediately following the service on Saturday. During other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to the Royston First United Methodist Church Music Ministry at 137 Franklin Springs Street Royston, GA 30662.
