He was born April 23, 1942, in Hutchinson, the son of Frank Patten, Iva Samples and Clifford Taggart. A resident of Hutchinson and Partridge, he was a retired construction supervisor for Barton L.C. of Hutchinson.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He married Betty Isbell and later married Donna Cobb.
Survivors include; a son, Charles "Chuck" Patten and wife JoAnn, Waterloo; three daughters, Rhonda Kocher and husband Karl, LeAnn Dick and husband Gary, and Robin Dick and husband Roy, all of Partridge; three brothers, Robert, Hutchinson, Kenneth, Aurora, Colo., and Clifford Taggart, Partridge; two sisters, Linda Ulom and Sherri Klam, both of Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; a son, Dee, three brothers, Russell, Jackie and Loren "Eddie" Patten; and his parents.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Curtis Combs presiding. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by the U.S. Navy.
Memoriala may be sent to the Charles L. Patten Memorial Fund in care of the mortuary.
