Gregory Wayne Smith, Sr., transitioned his life on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. He was born on October 26, 1958, to Betty Jean Doss and John W. Lyons. Gregory was reared in Chattanooga and graduated from Howard High School, Class of 1976.
He served in the United States Army from 1980 through 1984.
Gregory thoroughly enjoyed cooking, fishing, carpentry, spending time with his children and grandchildren, laughter with family and friends, and listening to smooth music. His favorite saying via his children was "Take Me Home".
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Zyanna Harris Bynum; grandparents, Lizzie T. and Frank Smith, Jr., mother-in-law, Sarah Houston.
