Born Dec. 9, 1920, in Canton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn (Burke) Becherer.
Rita was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, where she served as an eucharistic minister until she was 90.
Always wearing a smile with a desire to remain active, she volunteered at the Butler VA Medical Center, the American Red Cross, the Butler Memorial Hospital, the Butler Meals on Wheels and the Sunnyview Home, after retiring from Bell Telephone in 1981 following 21 years.
Mrs. Green is survived by her sons, William J. Green of Sewickley and Robert M. Green of Butler; her daughter, Patrice (Gary) Franchuk of Butler; six grandchildren, Luke Franchuk of Grove City, Sean (Rebecca) Green of Norfolk, Va., Brittany, Christopher and Riley Green also Aiden Masters, all of Florida; one great-grandchild, Rudee Green; and a daughter-in-law, Christine Schroyer-Green of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married in 1943, he passed away in 1989; a son, Lenny Green; two sisters, Marylin Platis and Rita's twin Jean McClancy; two brothers, the Rev. Jim Becherer and William Becherer; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Becherer and a brother-in-law Tom McClancy.
Green - Visitation for Rita Ann Green, who died Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Parish Cemetery.
