Ray W. Brown, 84, of Midland, died Monday Oct. 18 at a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today Oct. 22 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

He was born April 8, 1920 to William Ira Brown and Ollie T. Warren Brown in Childress, where he was raised and educated. He married Flodell Canon July 26, 1940 in Hollis, Okla., and the couple moved to Quail in 1950 where he was a farmer. He was a Deacon at the Quail Baptist Church. They moved to Midland in 1961 where he owned a gas station. He later worked for the City of Midland as a Sanitation Supervisor until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by a son, Phillip Brown; two daughters, Linda Landis and Terrecia Streiff; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Brown; one sister, Marie Swain; and many nieces and nephews.
