The 1920 census shows the family living at 981 De Haro Street in San Francisco, CA. John was a riveter at the shipyards.
By 1930 the family still lived on Potrero Hill in San Francisco at 1055 De Haro Street; John's occupation was as a janitor on the waterfront, they owned their home worth $2000 and his wife Mary worked in a junk shop.
