Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Dean Hodge Johnson, age 85 of will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Garmon Funeral Home Chapel, 900 North Van Buren , Henderson. Burial will follow at the Hall's Cemetery, County 3122, Mount Enterprise under the direction of Garmon Funeral Home.

Mary Dean Hodge was one of the twins born to Roberta Hodge on May 12, 1936 in Mount Enterprise, Texas. She attended the Mount Enterprise District and graduated from Concord High as class Salutatorian .

In 1956, she married John Willie Johnson. To this union was born daughter Sharlyn Eloise. She later moved to Falls, Texas. She was blessed with three additional children, Vanessa Lynn, Rodney Keith, and Barry Evans. She worked in the medical field as a ward for Falls General . She also worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant at for In-Home Care until she retired. After retiring, she assisted in the Bethlehem Missionary and Woodland Housing as part of their food bank.

Her grandfather, Lloyd Hodge; mother, Roberta Hodge Gray and twin brother, Cary Dean Hodge preceded her in death.

Left to carry on her legacy are her daughters; Sharlyn Johnson and Vanessa Taylor, her sons; Rodney Johnson and Barry Johnson; her son-in-law, Monroe Taylor III, daughter in-law, Darlene Johnson; grandchildren; Tashauna Tane Johnson, Schivona Renae Johnson, Rodney Keith Johnson Jr., Zarhi Biasa Adero Johnson of , Texas; Prines Johnson and Tiffany Johnson of Texas; John Johnson and Conchetta Johnson of Odessa, Texas; Barry Willis, Gregg Ortiz and Jamey Johnson; great-grandchildren; Royce and Reece Johnson of Odessa, Texas; Yahnathan, Chaniyan Ariya Lerrel, Tmeir and Tmiya Johnson of Odessa and Jeremiah Anthony and Jordan Emery Johnson of and a host of cousins.

Public viewing for Mrs. Johnson will be held Friday, August 20,2021 from 3 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
